This General Psychology class has worked hard all semester to learn how the mind operates and why we behave as we do. ABC students have the added privilege of weighing psychology's secular theories against the Bible, thereby deepening their conviction in the sufficiency, authority and power of God's Word.

Here is a salute to the seven fall graduates whose last day of final exams is now complete! Ethan, Elisabeth, Zechariah, Sarah, Thomas, Kristen, and Logan: God bless your futures ...Because Life is for Service.
Sarah just completed her semester of student teaching and is graduating this month with a double major in Bible/Theology and Elementary Education! Here is a story from her experience in a 5th grade Christian school classroom:
"It was amazing how the Lord opened up opportunities in subjects other than Bible to teach about Him and His Word. I remember one instance in Reading where we read a poem about a fight between a sister and brother. During the lesson, the Lord burdened my heart to share with the class a recent sin I had committed and how I had to ask for forgiveness in order to reconcile the relationship. The students seemed shocked that I sinned, let alone that I was willing to talk about it! The Lord allowed a lesson in my own life to teach the students the importance of forgiveness and reconciliation. I was even able to touch on the Gospel. What a blessing it was to share God's work in my personal life!"
On November 7, 2015, Zechariah Emery presented Modest Mussorgsky's "Great Gate of Kiev" during his Senior Recital. #tbt
In honor of the composer's 245th year, here is Ludwig van Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 21, "Waldstein," played by Elisabeth Brown at her Senior Recital last month.
ABC Receives $200,000 Gift
During this season of giving, Appalachian Bible College president Dr. Daniel Anderson announces receipt of a $200,000 donation. The donor wished to remain unnamed but was willing to publicize the gift as motivation for others to generously give, too.
“This substantial donation comes as a complete surprise,” says Anderson. “I never tire of watching the Lord provide for Appalachian Bible College as we train people to serve Him.” He cites student scholarships and facility upgrades as two ways the funds will be allocated.
Jon Rinker, Vice President for Development, explains that almost 25% of the College budget is dependent on donations. “Gifts like this one keep tuition more affordable for young men and women preparing for ministry.”
“Over 95% of 2015 B.A. graduates are pursuing ministry as pastors, missionaries, teachers, and other Gospel-focused vocations. So supporting ABC is a strategic contribution to the global advance of the Gospel for the glory of God,” according to Rinker. Gifts to ABC are tax-deductible and can be made online at abc.edu/giving. Donors are also welcome to call Mr. Rinker: 800-678-9222.
Anderson adds that donations are particularly meaningful at Christmas. “When we give generously, we follow the holy example of God Himself, who ‘gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.’”
After surviving final exams this week, most ABC students are home for the holidays!
"Light of the World" was the theme of this formal event beautifully hosted by the Senior Class.

By leaving the glories of heaven to put on human flesh, dwell with us, and die for us, Jesus became the supreme example of servanthood. We celebrate him!
The Chorale and Children's Choir sang Longfellow's poem to a new melody during our Christmas concert. It's the perfect way to wind down your celebration today. Peace on earth, goodwill to men!
