Announcing an exciting new course being added to the Elementary Education curriculum:
"TESOL for El Ed" is designed to prepare future teachers for the realities of teaching English to speakers of other languages, whether overseas or in the U.S. The course will address cultural dimensions and their impact on the classroom, appropriate TESOL techniques, and strategies for coping with the distinctive joys and challenges of working with English language learners.
From Jessica, a 2016 graduate:
"My senior year of college was a bit out of the ordinary. My husband and I joyously found out we were expecting our first child right at the beginning of the school year. Knowing we could expect our son to be born right before the end of the year, we decided I would continue schooling anyway."
"The end of the year arrived and was a bit crazier than I had anticipated as our son's due date drew closer along with impending finals, papers and projects. The last few weeks were definitely a whirlwind of activity as our son was born on Monday of the last week of classes. By the next Monday I was back, taking my final exams."
"With unending support from my husband, Student Wives Fellowship, and faculty I was able to complete my senior year and walk across the platform to receive my diploma. My son and I are now enjoying serving alongside my husband as Admissions Representatives for ABC."
"Let your heart therefore be perfect with the Lord our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day." I Kings 8:61
In Asia this summer, seven seniors in the Missions-TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) concentration are getting a unique cross-cultural experience. They are teaching English in classroom settings, putting into practice the techniques they have learned. Would you pray for myriad opportunities to share the gospel in this creative access nation? #ABCsummermissions
"I chose to serve at Alpine this summer because I want to be involved with the next generation. I believe camp is a tool that can be used to reach the next generation for Christ."
- Zach, Sophomore: Bible/Theology and Camping Ministry
Our new men's soccer coach is no stranger to ABC Athletics. Read more about Coach Lorch here: https://abc.edu/undergraduate/student-life/athletics/soccer
Athletic Director Tim Barton says, "Coach Lorch brings a lot of excitement and enthusiasm to the Warrior soccer program. He completed a collegiate coaching class and he is eager to put into practice what he has learned. We highly emphasize Christ-like character during athletic competition and I believe Coach Lorch will be a great encourager to the student athletes—both physically and spiritually."
This summer a student is serving somewhere in the 10-40 window, in an Asian country that she has long been interested in. She requests prayer for health and stamina, acclimation to the culture, and reliance on God's strength. Even now this ABC senior is finding ways to develop relationships and share the gospel as an English teacher and a hospital assistant. #ABCsummermissions
"The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." 2 Peter 3:9
Work is progressing on the new coffee shop, thanks to the cheerful labor of people like Russ, a 1999 graduate!

This week an ABC student is ministering to children and adults through VBS and revival services in Jamaica. Pray that she is effective in sharing the gospel, and that she and her team have safety traveling back to the U.S. #ABCsummermissions
