"And David built there an altar unto the Lord, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. So the Lord was intreated for the land, and the plague was stayed from Israel." (2 Samuel 24:25)
The context of this verse describes the occasion when King David had sinned by displaying an attitude of self-sufficiency. The evidence was his determination to number the people and thus validate his assumption that Israel was strong because of their populace.
While God regularly used people to accomplish His work, He never intended for people to become self-sufficient.
David did come to his spiritual senses and humbly acknowledged his sin (2 Samuel 24:17). He submitted to the Lord's demands to address his sin. He offered the appropriate sacrifices.
Thus we see the precious long-suffering of God: "So the Lord was entreated for the land."
At this time when our nation is experiencing such turmoil and anguish, I invite us to turn to God, obey His demands and pray that He will be entreated for our land.
Would you join me in this prayer?

"There was a time, shortly after graduation, when I asked myself, 'What is the value of a Bible College education?' I needed a job and well, I felt like it wasn't giving me a 'edge.' But now, I can't even express how thankful I am for the experience."
"As I write this, I look down from my 18th floor apartment at the busy streets of my city. As far as the eye can see, tall buildings house thousands of people. I can hear my kids playing and laughing behind me. This is my mission field. I am well equipped by God to do His work in this place, at this time in history. I'm so grateful for the training at ABC that put the right tools in my hands and showed me the right path to follow."
"What is the value of a Bible college education? Priceless, because you are investing in eternity and reaching eternal souls. What is the 'edge'? In a world of empty hope and dangerous lies, God's word cuts to the heart. Don't enter the battle without this sword and the skills to use it!"

"Even before the Coronavirus made itself known in the USA, change had been making its way into my life.
"During fall semester 2019, it was announced that ABC was going to be adding a Biblical Counseling major in the 2020-21 school year. I was a sophomore in the 2-year program, but over the following weeks God placed in my heart a desire to switch to the Biblical Counseling degree—so I will now be returning in the fall.
"I am thankful for how God leads us and how He has used ABC in my life!"
