If God's Word is the foundation for your life, shouldn't it also be the backbone of your education? At Appalachian Bible College in West Virginia, the answer is yes. That's why the accredited curriculum is designed so that every student's first major is Bible / Theology. This provides you with a mastery of essential Bible content and teaches you complete Bible study skills. You also choose a second ministry major to gain practical ministry skills and prepare for the service to which God has called you.
The ABC Advantage
Our Program
Unlike some Christian colleges, Biblical studies at ABC are not "tacked on." Rather, all other majors build upon your training in Bible / Theology. On average, Appalachian Bible College requires more hours in Bible and Theology than most Bible or Christian colleges. This offers a breadth, depth, and quality which nurtures personal spiritual growth and fruitful ministry.
The Bible / Theology major provides a balanced spectrum of biblical studies—from Bible interpretation courses, to individual book studies in every area of the Old and New Testaments, to correlation in systematic theology. The goal: every Bachelor of Arts graduate would truly know Christ, passionately love Christ, and skillfully proclaim Christ.
Our Faculty
Dr. Jonathan Rinker -
Chair of the Bible/Theology Major
My own experience as an ABC student planted a deep conviction in my heart: the all-sufficient, written Word of God is the most essential training for now and eternity. God’s powerful and precious words alone are a treasure that transforms students devoted to knowing and serving Christ.
It is my great joy to teach the Bible to ABC’s servants-in-training, and see it impact their hearts and minds. I pray that you would join us in the privilege of being mastered by the Word of God so you might proclaim the Gospel of our glorious Lord Jesus Christ.

Why Bible & Theology?
Overview
Fifty years from now, what will you regard as your best choice for a college education? Careers change, the economy fluctuates, and job skills become outdated—but you will never regret concentrated study of the Bible.
In a culture of shifting values, ABC remains steadfast to the promise of providing every student with the opportunity to learn how to Think Biblically. With deep conviction that Scripture is the most practical tool for all of life and ministry, Appalachian Bible College emphasizes the Bible / Theology major as the foundation for every student.
Career Ministry Opportunities
Jesus said, "The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few; pray therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth laborers into his harvest" (Matt. 9:37, 38).
There is no lack of need for full-time Christian workers. The world desperately needs servants who are willing to abandon themselves in full commitment to the One who gave everything for us.
Praise the Lord that over 80% of ABC graduates are serving the Lord in Gospel-focused vocations.
